With the rise of electoral fraud narratives amplified by traditional and social media, local election officials have become increasingly targeted by violence, harassment, and intimidation. This research aims to fill a crucial gap by analyzing the event chain leading to such violence, using qualitative interviews with election officials. The study will explore the escalating threats faced by election officials and propose threat indicators and best practices to mitigate the growing risks, particularly in the context of evolving cybersecurity threats.
