Congratulations to the TRC’s 2020 graduate students!

Congratulations to TRC graduate students Kyle Kaminicki, Meredith Lerma, and Evan Mudgett for completing their MA degrees at the University of Arkansas!

Kaminicki and Mudgett earned their MA degrees in Sociology with a Criminology concentration. Kaminicki’s thesis is titled: “Prosecutorial and Judicial Decision-Making in Federal Sovereign Citizen Cases.” He is currently working as a Research Associate at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Mudgett’s thesis is titled: “Extreme Ideologies, Situational Factors, and Terrorists’ Target Selection.” He will be joining the Oklahoma State Department of Health’s Injury Prevention Service.

Lerma completed her M.S. in Geosciences. Her thesis is titled “Far-Right Extremism in America: A Geospatial Analysis of Incident Distribution.” She is currently pursuing career opportunities in security and data analytics in either the public or private sectors.

As TRC graduate research assistants, all three students conducted data analysis related to crime and homeland security issues, contributed to final reports and research briefs, supervised undergraduate research interns, and presented their original research at the American Society of Criminology conference in San Francisco

The TRC thanks all three students for their hard work over the last two years. We are very proud of their accomplishments and cannot wait to see where their careers take them next.
