Sydney Conway is a Senior majoring in Psychology and minoring in Criminology. Sydney was an intern for the HTS project in the fall of 2024.
Why did you want to intern with the TRC?
After looking into the TRC, I knew it’d be an excellent opportunity to do research and gain a more in-depth understanding of the legal side of crimes such as human trafficking and terrorism.
How has working at the TRC prepared you for your career and what have you learned?
Working at the TRC has prepared me for my career as a forensic psychologist because in that field, I will often be looking over court documents of the patients in a facility or state hospital. I have learned a lot about human trafficking crimes and their legal aspects, which has only solidified my interest in my future career.
What are your postgrad plans?
I plan on attending graduate school to get my master’s in psychology with a focus in forensics. After completing my master’s, I intend on obtaining a doctoral degree in Psychology as well.
What advice do you have for future interns?
I would advise all future interns to attend as many of the guest speakers as possible. In doing so, you’ll be able to establish connections with various three-letter agencies and obtain informative career advice.
