Tara Young is a Junior majoring in Psychology, Criminology, and Sociology. Alivia was an intern for the CASDAL project in the spring of 2025.
Why did you want to intern with the TRC?
I was looking for internships involving data analysis and heard great things about the TRC from classmates and professors!
How has working at the TRC prepared you for your career and what have you learned?
The TRC gave a personal experience with the process of coding the data that becomes the analyzed information we use. This prepared me for my career because it is helping to build on my data knowledge by forming a solid understanding from where the data begins, which will make it easier to build on in the future.
What advice do you have for future interns?
Enjoy the process! It is easy to live in the mindset of achieving something to finish it, but there is so much to learn by engaging with the task you are given beyond just the finish line.
What is a fun fact about yourself?
I acted as an extra in a documentary series!
