The City of Fayetteville is located in the Northwest region of Arkansas and has an estimated population of a little over 85,000 people as of 2019. Fayetteville is home to the University of Arkansas, the largest university in the state. Northwest Arkansas is also home to Walmart, Tyson Foods, and J.B. Hunt. The citizens of Fayetteville are 77.36% White and are 50.69% male. Median household income is 42,101 dollars and 12.31 percent of families report being below the poverty level. Fayetteville has received national recognition as one of the “best places to live”. With that, and as part of the mission of the University, CASDAL sought to work locally and assist with agencies/organizations within their own backyard.
