The City of Little Rock is located in Central Arkansas and is the state capital.  It is the most populated city in the state with an estimated population of over 197,000 residents and is comprised mostly of White (45.14%) and Black (41.97%) residents. Little Rock is historically known for the, Little Rock Nine (Central High – Forced Desegregation). Little Rock’s segregated past is still identifiable across neighborhoods today. Little Rock has continued to have high rates of crime compared to the national average and for similar cities with over 100,000 residents. Furthermore, Dr. Drawve received his PhD from UALR and lived in Little Rock, providing a research site with firsthand knowledge.
