The TRC has many people walk in and out of its doors and many continue on in their lives and careers to make a positive impact in a variety of fields including academia, legal, law enforcement, and other practitioners.

Recent Graduates: Master’s Degrees
Aidan Stuart
Aidan graduates with her MA in Sociology with a Criminology concentration in May 2025. Prior to this, she earned her BA in Criminology and Sociology with a Minor in Psychology in 2023 at the University of Arkansas. From 2023 – 2025, she served as TRC Project Manager for the Extremist Crime Database (ECDB), a research effort that has been supported by the Department of Homeland Security since 2006. During her time with the TRC, Aidan has presented research at several conferences including ASC and ACJS. Following her graduation she will be applying for positions as a criminal investigator within federal agencies.
Recent Graduates: Bachelor’s Degrees
Becca Simpson
Becca majored in Psychology, Criminology, and Sociology. Becca was a TRC Intern in Spring 2023, and served as the American Terrorism Study (ATS) Research Assistant from Fall 2023 – Spring 2024. She then stepped into the role of Project Manager for the ATS in Fall 2024 and continues to serve in this role. She has been accepted as a graduate student in Sociology with a concentration in Criminology at the UofA.
Ashlyn Boyd
Ashlyn majored in Political Science with a minor in Legal Studies. Ashlyn started at the TRC as an intern in Spring 2024 and served as the Extremist Crime Database (ECDB) Research Assistant from Fall 2024 to Spring 2025. She plans to continue her academic journey next fall at Texas A&M University School of Law in Fort Worth.
Diego Sanchez Alvarez
Diego majored in Sociology and Criminology. Diego started at the TRC as an intern in Spring 2024 and served as the Human Trafficking Study (HTS) Research Assistant from Fall 2024 to Spring 2025. He plans on pursuing his Master’s in Sociology with a concentration in Criminology.
TRC Alumni
The Terrorism Research Center continues to grow and provides unique opportunities for students and employees. TRC Alumni can be found across the nation in roles such as Assistant Professor and Data Analyst.
