The Terrorism Research Center recognizes Department of Criminology and Sociology student researchers who shared their work at the 2025 Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS) conference in Denver last week. Utilizing TRC data, the following students represented TRC and the University of Arkansas through presentations focused across a range of TRC research topics including online and offline radicalization, gender and domestic terrorism, and cybersecurity.
- Second-year graduate student Aidan Stuart gave a presentation titled, “A Comparative Examination of Risk Factors Associated with Right Wing Extremist Plots in the U.S.”
- Second-year graduate student Caroline Johnson spoke on, “Women’s Participation in U.S. Homegrown and Domestic Terrorism Plots in the 21st Century”
- First-year graduate student CJ Freeman shared a presentation titled, “From Public Office to Public Target: Unmasking the Cybersecurity Risks Facing Election Officials”
- Senior Rebecca Simpson presented, “Radical Islamic Terrorist Plots in the U.S.: Comparing Foiled and Completed Plots Since 9/11”
