Why did you want to intern with the TRC?

Before interning at the TRC, I interned at the Crime and Security Data Analytics Lab on campus and absolutely loved it. After that internship, I knew I wanted to keep pursuing research in the department and decided to apply for the TRC internship. So far, I have learned so much and loved it as well!

What has been your favorite experience interning with the TRC?

My favorite thing I have worked on so far would have to be coding the cases into the Extremist Crime Database. It is s interesting to learn about the different cases that come through the system and gain insight into what drives these crimes!

What has been your favorite class at the university?

Criminal Investigation with John Brooks!

What are your postgraduate plans?

I am hoping to obtain a master’s degree in criminology!

Any advice you would like to share with prospective TRC interns?

I would advise upcoming interns to prioritize time management to make the most of your time at the TRC! Having a schedule that you stick to every week makes it so much easier to manage and gives you the best and most fulfilling experience!
